Shopping center

There are plenty of shopping centers in Singapore, almost every housing estate district has at least a shopping mall. Almost all are often crowded and caotic, however, next to Bishan shopping mall, found this rather small and quiet shopping mall, its interior design and decoration caught my eyes. 

Steamboat

Hot pot , less commonly Chinese fondue or steamboat, refers to several East Asian varieties of stew, consisting of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leafy vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. Vegetables, fish and meat should be fresh. The cooked food is usually eaten with a dipping sauce. In many areas, hot pot meals are often eaten in the winter.

This is a one with spicy soup and non spicy soup, which I had with my family when I was back in Singapore last month.

Mount Faber

Mount Faber is a hill about 105 metres (344 ft.) in height in Singapore, located near the Bukit Merah planning area in the Central Region. It overlooks the Telok Blangah area, and the western parts of the Central Area. The summit is accessible by road, but there are many footpaths leading up the hill.
It is a frequent tourist destination, as it provides a panoramic view of the increasingly dense central business district within the Central Area. Its slope includes a tower that is part of the Singapore cable car system that connects to HarbourFront and Sentosa. It is accessible from the HarbourFront MRT Station.

 Was thinking to walk to the Henderson bridge to make some photo, when passeing by Mt Faber, saw the beautiful evening scenery.  A bit difficult to take photo at low light, but I tried my best....

From MBS sky park

The MBS complex is topped by a 340m-long SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150m infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67m.

For the ticket fare of 20 sg dollar, the park itshelf I would say is not really worth the price, partly due to inaccessible to the side with the swimming pool.

Still, the panoraomic view is stunning, breathtaking, but since the side with the swimming pool is blocked, a 360° view of the scenery around is not possible, thus the 20 sg dollar fare is still rather stiff.

Chinatown

With its unique shophouses and the colorful street scene, Singapore Chinatown is an interesting place for tourists and essential place for the locals(especially chinese) to shop.

Over the years, however, being deliberately promoted as major tourist attraction, it has became a bit too commercial. What remains more interesting is, actually looking at the people who frequent or live there.

Nevertheless, the energy and the atmosphere that it generates is full of life and characteristic.

Back in Singapore 2012 March...

Every once in a while, I come back to Singapore, and often find many changes.....a 40 storeys high building not exisited two years ago next to my block, a piece of land which was once covered with sea water, a stretch of rail for metro connected to places which were once not easily reachable.....or even some new family members. Every time I come back to Singapore, it never fails to surprise me.

Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore.

Marina Bay Sands or MBS as it is called commonly in Sinagpore, is breathtaking at night.

 Walking along the bay under this good weather is enjoyable, fascinated by the unique structures such as the spiral bridge, the flower shaped theatre and why not, even the floating pavilions, hosting the two tenants (Louis Vuitton and Pangaea Club).

Inside, however, restaurants, branded shops, casino....even a river with boats and an ice skating ring, just screams 'Money, money, come and spend money', which doesn't really interest me that much. Of course there is nothing wrong, is just me....:)
